Team Type 1 Timer
Our Team
Our passionate team of experts provide best-in-class strategies for managing diabetes when playing sports, as well as across their entire lives. Campers and families both benefit from sessions with leading sports psychologists, nutritionists, and professional athletes who’ve triumphed while navigating the challenges of diabetes.
At T1T, we’re about more than just hockey. We’re building a supportive community where campers can connect with peers who truly understand their journey, fostering meaningful friendships and a sense of belonging that endures long after camp ends.
Megan & Geoff Hoffmann
Megan and Geoff Hoffmann proudly serve as the Executive Director and President of Type 1 Timer Hockey. Their diabetes journey began nearly ten years ago when their oldest son was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at the age of seven. Since then, they have been deeply involved in the Chicagoland diabetes community, working to support others navigating similar challenges.
Megan serves on the Board of Directors for the University of Chicago’s Kovler Diabetes Center, while Geoff has been a dedicated member of the JDRF Illinois Board since 2018. Together, the Hoffmanns were the Fund a Cure Family for the 2018 One Dream Gala, where they played a pivotal role in raising $5.4 million to support T1D research. Their commitment extends beyond advocacy; they bring personal experience in managing T1D—on and off the ice—and are passionate about helping families thrive within both the diabetes and hockey communities.
Geoff is Co-CEO of Hoffmann Family of companies, serving on the boards of a variety of HF Companies in addition to DHR Global, as well as the boards of JDRF Illinois and YPO Chicago Chapter.
The Hoffmann family resides in Winnetka, Illinois, where Megan and Geoff raise their four hockey-loving sons—Henry, George, Ben, and Teddy—while striving to make an impact in the diabetes and hockey communities.
