WHAT THIS POLICY APPLIES TO
This Policy applies to information only to the extent it is collected through this Site (including in e-mail, text, and other electronic messages between you and this Site) or offline via hard copy forms that you fill out and return to us.
This Policy does not apply to information to the extent it is collected through any other means, including any other website operated by us or any third party.
This Policy is governed by Florida law.
OUR COMMITMENT TO DATA SECURITY
We consider the protection of sensitive information to be a sound business practice, and to that end we employ commercially reasonable organizational, physical, technical, and procedural safeguards, which seek to protect your Personally Identifiable Information in our possession or under our control to the extent practicable from unauthorized access and improper use. Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the Internet is not completely secure and we cannot guarantee the security of your Personally Identifiable Information transmitted to or through the Services; any such transmission is at your own risk. Once we have received your information, however, we will use the procedures and security features described above to try to prevent unauthorized access of your Personally Identifiable Information.
“Services” means any website owned or controlled by Type 1 Timer (each, a “Website”), including the website found at www.t1thockey.com, along with any and all content, features, functionality, and services offered on or through a Website.
CHILDREN UNDER THE AGE OF 13
We require that all information about any child under the age of 13 provided through our forms comes from such child’s parent/guardian, or with the parent/guardian’s verified consent. To that end, we require the individual filling out our forms to attest that they are the parent/guardian of the camper, and will not collect any information about any child under the age of 13 until such consent has been obtained. The attestation will come in the form of a consent box during the registration process, and may look something like:
Before moving forward with processing your child’s camp participation request, we require your written consent for your child to participate as a camper at the Type 1 Timer hockey camp. To verify your consent, please read the message below and check the box confirming that you have read and agree to the terms:
I confirm that I, am this child’s parent/guardian and I hereby give parental consent and permission for my child to participate as a camper in the Type 1 Timer hockey camp. I understand that, for my child to participate in the Type 1 Timer hockey camp, Type 1 Timer will have to collect, use, and in some cases, disclose, my child’s personal information as described in the Privacy Policy on Type 1 Timer’s website. Accordingly, I authorize Type 1 Timer to collect, use, and disclose my child’s personal information pursuant to the terms of the Privacy Policy on Type 1 Timer’s website.
Without obtaining parental consent, we do not collect Personally Identifiable Information directly from any person we actually know is a child under the age of 13.
If you are under the age of 13, do not: use or provide any information on this Site or on or through any of its features; register on this Site; use any of the interactive or public comment features of this Site; or provide any information about yourself to us, including your name, address, telephone number, e-mail address or any screen name or user name you may use.
If we learn we have collected or received Personally Identifiable Information from a child under the age of 13 without verification of parental consent, we will delete that information. If you believe we might have any information from or about a child under the age of 13 that was provided without parental consent, please contact us by sending us an e-mail stating your request to [email protected] or contacting us in writing at Type 1 Timer Hockey 71 S. Wacker Drive, Suite 2700 Chicago, IL 60606.
By providing Personally Identifiable Information through this Site, you represent and warrant that you are either over the age of 13 or have gotten parental consent as laid out above. If you do not meet these requirements, you must not provide Personally Identifiable Information through this Site.
INFORMATION WE COLLECT
The Site collects two basic types of information during your visits to our Site, Anonymous Information, and Personally Identifiable Information.
Anonymous Information. We collect non-Personally Identifiable Information (“Anonymous Information”). This is general information that cannot be traced to individuals and contains no personalized data–think of it as a simple census form. When visitors come to our Site, we collect and aggregate information indicating, among other things, which pages of the Site were visited, the order in which they were visited and which links on the Site were clicked by visitors. We use this information in making modifications and improvements to the Site to provide you, the user, with both a smoother and more efficient user experience.
We also use non-invasive “cookies” and other tracking technologies to collect Anonymous Information, which we then use to provide you with an easier user experience. Cookies are alphanumeric identifiers that we transfer to your computer’s hard drive through your Web browser. These cookies do not track other websites you might visit and they do not plant malware on your computer. Our non-invasive cookies simply make it possible for us to recognize your browser once you visit our Site. By doing this, we can personalize your return visits and save you time during checkout. Your browser must be set to accept cookies in order for you to enjoy the benefits of being a registered user of the Site. If you are uncomfortable with the cookies on your computer, you can always remove them by accessing the options menu of your browser. Please refer to your browser’s help menu for more specific directions if needed.
Some internet browsers have incorporated “Do Not Track” features. Most of these features, when turned on, send a signal or preference (the “DNT Signal”) to web sites you visit indicating that you do not wish to be tracked. We currently respond to DNT Signals.
The Site uses Anonymous Information, such as your IP address and the pages that you visit on our Site, to help diagnose problems with our servers and to administer our Site and improve Site-related services and features. Your IP address and other Anonymous Information also may be used to gather broad demographic information and to recognize customer traffic patterns and Site usage trends. This information aids us in developing the design and layout of the Site.
Personally Identifiable Information. We collect Personally Identifiable Information as needed to provide our Services. In general, our Site uses an order form (shopping cart), and a registration form so that you can request information, products and Services from us. “Personally Identifiable Information” means your or your child’s name, street address, telephone number, e-mail address, credit card number, or user or account name or number, health information or any other piece of information provided by you to us that, individually or when combined with other personal or identifying information, allows the identification of a person or is otherwise considered Personally Identifiable Information or personal data protected under any applicable law.
Further, when you use the Site to purchase a product or Service as a gift, we will collect from you Personally Identifiable Information regarding the gift recipient or potential gift recipient so that we can deliver the gift to them if requested.
Please take some time to familiarize yourself with the different ways that the Site uses the information that we gather.
Keep in mind that, while we encourage all third parties that might have access to data from our Site to adhere to our policies regarding the privacy of our visitors and to handle Personally Identifiable Information in a responsible manner, we cannot and do not assume any responsibility for any actions or omissions of third parties, including the manner in which they use information received either from the Site or independently.
Use of Personally Identifiable Information. The Site uses Personally Identifiable Information collected from you to complete transactions initiated by you, particularly the sale and delivery of products and Services. Your Personally Identifiable Information is also used to get in touch with you when necessary regarding questions about any order you might place. We may also use Personally Identifiable Information to contact you to make sure you are satisfied with our goods and Services or to find out how we can serve you better. Your decision to participate in any survey or questionnaire about this is completely voluntary.
Financial information (credit card numbers, credit card expiration dates, billing address, and so forth) is used solely to bill you for products and Services. We use a third party processor to conduct such transactions, and we do not have access to, nor do we store, any of your financial information.
You may, from time to time, receive information from us regarding new features, new products and Services and special offers, or newsletters that we think you’ll find valuable. If you’d like to opt out of receiving future mailings from the Site, please follow the procedure outlined in the Choice/Opt-out section below.
The Site also may use your Personally Identifiable Information to “pre-populate” forms that are used by the Site to facilitate transactions with us and save you from entering every data field on the checkout.
Collection of Personal Health Information.
We may request limited health information about the camp participant, such as: their physician’s contact information; medications used; how the camper manages their diabetes; how often injections are administered if on MDI; whether the player has a continuous glucose monitor and, if so, what kind; non-diabetes medical concerns or requirements; what type of pump the camper has (if any); date of camper’s last tetanus shot; and confirmation that the camper’s immunizations are up to date.
We collect this information solely for purposes of providing the Services described in this Policy, or to provide the camper with necessary medical support or treatment through our licensed diabetes educators and nurses. In the event of a medical emergency, we may release a camper’s health information to third party healthcare organizations or healthcare professionals.
Gift Recipients.
As noted above, we collect Personally Identifiable Information regarding gift recipients and people to whom you may wish to give gifts in the future. This is done in order to accommodate proper gift delivery to such recipients. We do not sell or rent any Personally Identifiable Information that you provide to us regarding such persons.
Service Providers.
We work with third parties who provide services, including, but not limited to, website hosting, order processing and fulfillment, credit card clearance, data analysis, emailing and other services of an administrative nature. Personally Identifiable Information is shared with such third parties for the purpose of providing you Services or products and is limited to the intended purpose only. We do not share any information with third party advertisers.
Subject to applicable law, we reserve the right to release information concerning any Site visitor or camper where such visitor or camper is believed to be in violation of his or her obligations to us, is partaking (or is suspected of partaking) in any illegal activity, in response to civil subpoenas and discovery requests, to protect the interests of the Site, our customers or others, and as otherwise permitted or required by law as regards to these special cases.
How We Store Personally Identifiable Information.
Your Personally Identifiable Information resides on a secure cloud-based server that only selected personnel and contractors have access to. As part of our efforts to ensure that your Personally Identifiable Information is safe as it is transmitted to us, we use a Secure Socket Layer (SSL) certificate and encryption at both the server and connection level and utilize Global Edge Security Cloudflare DNS to mask server data and scan incoming and outgoing traffic for malicious code.
In regard to payment card information, we do not store or collect payment card information within the Type 1 Timer servers. All payment card information is handled by a third party merchant processor called Stripe.
We will store your Personally Identifiable Information in an identifiable manner indefinitely, unless (i) otherwise required by applicable law, or (ii) you request deletion of your Personally Identifiable Information. At such point that we cease storing your Personally Identifiable Information in an identifiable manner, except to the extent that we may be prohibited from retaining any such information even in unidentifiable form, we will convert all of your Personally Identifiable Information into anonymized, aggregated, or de-identified form. For the avoidance of doubt, Personally Identifiable Information that has been converted into anonymized, aggregated, or de-identified form shall no longer constitute Personally Identifiable Information.
Changing or Deleting your Personally Identifiable Information.
You may update or request deletion of the Personally Identifiable Information that you previously submitted to us by contacting us at [email protected] or +1 312-775-1909.

SITE SECURITY
The Site seeks to use reasonable security measures to help protect against the loss, misuse or alteration of Personally Identifiable Information that is under our control.
